Skyline Reviews: An Alien Film Will Rule the Box Office! Just Not Skyline. (Video)

skyline reviewsThe reviews are in for this weekend’s big blockbuster alien movie, Skyline.   The movie experts are weighing in on the prospects for the weekend box office.  It seems an alien will reign supreme this weekend and it’s not the creepy ones from Skyline, but the superhero version from Megamind!

The early reviews are rolling in and they are a mixed bag for Skyline.  For the most part, the reviews agree that the film can’t be beat for the special effects.  They just don’t help a barely there storyline and a cast of characters that you don’t really care about.

Here’s a roundup of what the reviewers are saying:

“Beyond the dazzling ‘first contact’ sequences seen in the trailers, ‘Skyline’ is a spasmodic and incoherent shambles hampered by an astoundingly stupid screenplay,” says the Hollywood Reporter.

“‘Skyline,’ for all its ‘let’s put on a show’ low-budget gumption, doesn’t have the storytelling skills or the basic narrative fundamentals to make any of the flashy mayhem (or mundane human drama) compelling in the slightest,” says The Playlist.

“Dull special effects and slow pace results in the most boring alien-invasion film,” says New York Daily News.

“Skyline is a sort of sci-fi sampler of every alien invasion movie ever made; it hasn’t got much in the way of character or plot development but it’s heavy on the ’50s movie kitsch,” says The Toronto Star.

Skyline Is an Alien Invasion From the $.99 Store,” says E! Online.

It looks like this is one for the kiddies to skip and probably most of the grown-ups too!
