Slipknot's Paul Gray Dead at 38; Leaves Behind Pregnant WifeErin Blakeley
The bass player for the band Slipknot, Paul Gray, was found dead in an Iowa hotel room earlier today. He was 38. And in a particularly sad twist, his wife, Brenna Grey is pregnant with their first child, and is due in September. Just three weeks ago, Brenna wrote the following news about the baby on God’s Girls, an online social networking/alternative community:
So I’m having a daughter.. pretty stoked. Were naming her October Dedrick. I figured id let everyone know since i get a ton of messages asking if i knew what we were having yet.. We found out about 3 weeks ago!”
Gray was a founding member of the band Slipknot, which often performed while wearing masks. (My 3-year-old would dig the music. He would not dig the masks) They won a Grammy in 2006 for Best Metal Performance.
At this point, no cause of death has been released, and an investigation is ongoing. The police have said they do not suspect foul play.
