St Patrick s Day Music: Dropkick Murphys So Cool Bruce Springsteen on New Album

dropkick murphysIrish band Dropkick Murphys are so cool that Bruce Springsteen adds his vocals to their new album.  On  the newly released album, Going Out In Style, “The Boss” Springsteen joins the boys from Boston for a cover of the folk song ‘Peg O’ My Heart.’

In an interview with Spinner, Dropkick Murphys singer Ken Casey told the publication:

“His son Evan is a fan of ours. He came to see us about six years ago; we just became friends. We invited him to shows and he invited us up to sing with him onstage in Boston. He said, ‘I’ll return the favor someday,’ which is hilarious, because singing with Bruce, you owe him!”

The Boston-based punk band Dropkick Murphys got mainstream attention after their song, “I’m Shipping Up to Boston,” was featured in the Martin Scorsese film The Departed. The song is awesome, if you don’t remember it, watch the music video below of “I’m Shipping Up to Boston.”
