While I’ve had the most horrible sads over the fact that Steve Carell is no longer on The Office, I do appreciate the fact that he is living a much quieter life with his wife and kids that he’s able to do “normal things” like go to the movies and not even be noticed. Like, really.
Steve, who shares two children, Elisabeth, 11, and John, 8, with his wife Nancy says that his life is far from the Hollywood kind and that he takes much pleasure in doing the simple things such as going to the movies or to a museum with his family. Here’s what he tells Parade Magazine in their latest issue:
“We don’t live this strange lifestyle. It’s very ordinary, which is what I love about it. Sundays are reserved for family,” he says. “We try to plan different things every week, whether it’s going to a kids’ museum, the beach, or taking bike rides around our neighborhood.”
He also adds:
“[The kids] are 8 and 11, and they still like hanging out with us, so we’re taking advantage of it I know it won’t always be that way.”
As far as his fame interfering with his daily outings, Steve isn’t too worried. He says:
“I went to see The Avengers with my family the other day,” he says. “No one even noticed. I don’t cause a stir. Even when I try.”
No one noticed? Michael Scott would have been so disappointed with that one.
