Could we one day be seeing more kids in the Kennedy compound?
Taylor Swift, whose romance with Conor Kennedy is keeping gossip-watchers working overtime, isn’t yet ready to settle down to family life. When you’re 22 with a superstar music career, it’s natural to want to have fun for a while longer.
But that doesn’t mean she’s not thinking ahead. The country-pop singer is putting aside a portion of her millions (Forbes lists her as the richest star under 30) for her future family.
“That money will be good for sending my kids to college one day,” she tells the new issue of Marie Claire‘s UK edition. “Or maybe I’ll have a few more kids than I thought. I want a bunch of them running around, minimum four.”
Interestingly, Taylor doesn’t come from a Brangelina-sized home herself; she grew up in Pennsylvania with one younger brother. Maybe she longs for the chaotic fun of a large household.
Taylor adds that the idea of being a mom someday affects the choices she makes now. “[T]he idea of pouring everything you are into another person when you become a parent is amazing to me,” she tells the magazine. “That factors into everything I do. They’re going to have computers and they’re going to read everything I said in this interview.”
They’re also going to read that she was involved with a member of the family considered the closest thing to an American monarchy, so she’d better be prepared to answer a lot of questions…
It’ll be interesting to see what happens when the time actually comes for her to start a family. Will she take to new motherhood so passionately that she wants to do it again and again? Or will she follow the example of moms like Katie Holmes and devote all her time and energies to an only child?
Either way, Taylor’s future children won’t have to worry about being able to pay the rent.
