Teen Mom Amber Portwood was arrested and is in jail!
She also has a no contact’ order prohibiting her from being with daughter Leah.
Portwood was taken into custody Monday and placed on a 24-hour hold, which is standard practice for such cases in Indiana. She is behind bars and will face a judge on Tuesday morning at the arraignment where she’s expected to enter a plea to the charges.
RadarOnline.com broke the news early Monday that Indiana prosecutors had filed three felony and one misdemeanor charges against the reality star, and that a warrant had been issued for her arrest.
“She’s scared. But her thoughts were with Leah and she knew Leah was going to be taken care of,” a source said.
Portwood’s troubles began when she was seen in an episode of her MTV series, punching her then-boyfriend Gary Shirley in front of their baby daughter.
It was then up to Indiana prosecutors, who decided before the holiday to charge Portwood, who was arrested Monday. Her bail has been set for $5,000.
Leah’s father Gary Shirley is expected to take care of the child during this time.
“Gary is very upset because he didn’t want to see anything happen to Amber. If he had it his way no charges would be brought against her. He only wants his family back and intact for Leah. He wants her out of jail so he can have his family back. He knows she feels bad about everything that has happened,” the insider said.
“Amber wants to put this all behind her and move on with her life. She is hoping there will be no more jail time. She is just trying to get it all together for Leah’s sake.”
