Teen Mom Amber Portwood: I Want to Be a Role Model for My DaughterShana Aborn
Can troubled Teen Mom Amber Portwood ever turn her life around and become a responsible parent? She seems to think so.
Awaiting her court date later this month for drug possession and violating the terms of her probation, Amber wrote a letter to her brother that was recently made public on TMZ.
Apologizing for her scrawl – “the pens they give us here bend so we can’t stab anyone w/them lol wow!” – Amber sends her love to her brother, asks her supporters to write to her and shares her fear of going to prison (she faces up to two years behind bars).
But her main concern, she says, is for her daughter, 3-year-old Leah. “I don’t know what to do, all I think about is Leah and how she needs a ro-model and if I get out I can really show her what a good mother is!”
She sure hasn’t been much of a “ro-model” up till now, what with her history of drinking and violence. Her depression issues are going to have to be addressed before she can make good on her promises to her child.
She complains about being considered an “endangerment to society,” adding, “Really? This sh*t is getting out of hand seriously. I wouldn’t hurt anyone!”
Amber, who doesn’t like being considered a “crazy b-,” insists, “I’m a good person and I pray that I can change my life!”
For her daughter’s sake, one can only hope she will. But actions speak louder than words…
