This Teen Mom’ drama just seems to be getting worse. Amber Portwood, who is one of the stars’ of the reality show, spoke to Us Weekly about having her daughter, Leah, taken away after she got into a physical fight with her ex-fiancé Gary Shirley.
“Child Protective Services agreed it was safer for her to stay at Gary’s because of all the photographers outside my house,”
She also reveals to the magazine that to cope with her anxiety and depression she is currently on medication. She goes on to say that being away from her daughter “is the lowest of the low. Every night she’s been saying, ‘Where’s Mommy?'”
“I feel like everything is spinning out of control, and I’m trying to put the pieces back together,” she tells Us Weekly. “I have to get myself better so when I get my baby back, she sees her mom as happy as can be.”I’m kind of torn on this. I can`t help but think that if these girls hadn’t exposed their lives to MTV and allowed the cameras in their homes things might have been different. But on the other hand would all of this have happened regardless of whether there were cameras there or not?
Either way I know that Teen Mom’ has made these kids to be celebrities in their own minds. Between the countless magazine covers and the attention from the paparazzi I’m pretty sure the show has done them more harm than good.
What do you think?
