"Teen Mom" Leah Calvert's Moment of Mom-Panic: Aleeah Goes to the HospitalShana Aborn
Every mom wishes she could wrap her children in foam rubber to keep them safe from all harm. But whether we like it or not, bumps, scrapes and even more serious injuries are an unavoidable part of childhood. Take it from a mother whose daughter has so far broken a wrist and a toe (at the playground and kiddie arcade, respectively), and whose son got a cut above his eye by falling on top of a Disney video box.
Still, knowing that all kids get hurt doesn’t make a difference when it’s your child crying and in pain. Teen Mom 2 star Leah Calvert found that out the hard way on Friday.
A Twitter conversation with a friend reveals that one of her twins, Aleeah (on the right in this photo), fell and hurt her face badly enough to require medical attention.
Worse, it happened off her watch: Aleeah and Aliannah were visiting their dad, Corey Simms, at the time.
“Corey just had Aleeah [at the hospital]!” Leah tweeted to her friend. “She fell and her eye is literally swollen shut. I’m a mess!”
Although Corey is a loving dad and got his daughter through the crisis like a champ, Leah still wished she could have been there to comfort her little girl. “Aleeah is doing better it’s just killing me I can’t be with her, but okay. Well have to get it checked out,” she said.
The newlywed mom is no stranger to anxiety and doctors’ visits – Aliannah has been to a number of specialists for her developmental delays – but unexpected accidents are a whole different matter.
“What is it with them falling? lol. Aleaah is so clumsy and this is her first big fall and I was in a panic!” Leah tweeted. “I just get soo paranoid! It’s amazing how much their little bodies can take.”
Thank goodness, the crisis seems to be over. The twins are still enjoying the weekend with their dad and grandparents; last night they watched Air Buddies, and today they’re “fishing and feeding the ducks,” reports Corey. Here’s a pic of them taken just minutes ago.
So the weekend is ending on a happy note for all. Whew!
But as we all know, more adventures – and boo-boos – lie ahead for these cuties in the years to come. They’re only 2, after all (their birthday is in December).
“I’m going to have gray hair wayy before I’m 30,” sighs Leah.
Welcome to the club, Leah!
