Oh, Teresa Giudice, what trouble are you up to now? Seems that Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Teresa Giudice and her husband, Joe, hid $250,000 in assets (and other goodies) when they filed for bankruptcy.
That’s a big no-no.
Lawyer Roberta A. DeAngelis has filed a complaint about the Giudice’s bankruptcy, on claims of “falsehoods” and omissions in filing.
Teresa’s $250,000 cookbook advance is in question, as she allegedly hid the advance money, not disclosing that the deal for the $250k went down one week prior to filing.
On Joe Giudice’s part, he left out certain asset items in the filing, such as a “bank account, two pieces of real property, and vehicles.” There’s also an online boutique called TG Fabulicious that was not included as an asset.
The Giudices also provided false income tax return documents. Can you say fraud?
The Giudices could be denied their Chapter 7 bankruptcy petition, so stay tuned to see what happens next.
Until it’s all sorted out, Teresa wrote in a blog post this summer: “Every day, there are new tactics used, stories circulated, and details ‘leaked’ to the press, but it’s all part of the legal wrangling. All I can do is rise above it, keep my head high, and know that at the end of the day, I have my family, my health, and I’m in God’s hands.”
What do you think of Teresa Giudice’s legal troubles?
