For some of us, labor seemed to last years. For one woman carrying twins in Illinois, it actually did! Here’s the truly bizarre part: When Ashley Fansler’s babies finally arrived, the twins were born in different years. Madisen Carin Lewis arrived at 11:59 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, and twin brother Aiden Everette Lewis arrived at 12 a.m. on New Year’s Day, meaning Madisen was born in 2010 and Aiden in 2011.
Can you imagine explaining this to virtually every other parent you meet over the next 18 years? It’s the sort of once-in-a-lifetime oddity that has gotten lots of media attention for Fansler and Brandon Lewis, the babies’ father.
I guess that is a bonus in the end for the twins no sharing birthdays every year! What do you think heard of any other New Year’s birthing oddities that top this one?
