The 5 Worst Reality TV Dads Everjack
Michael Lohan has officially been charged with 2nd degree harassment for allegedly attacking fiancée Kate Major. Kate Major was the woman he originally introduced to Jon Gosselin while trying to get Gosselin to sign on to his reality show idea about divorced dad’s! This isn’t Lohan’s first run in with the law he spent time in jail in 1990 after a conviction on criminal contempt of court, and again in 2005 after an assault and dui charge. Is it any wonder Lindsay is where she is today? Here are some other Reality TV dads who suck!
Jon Gosselin went from lazy but loveable father of 8 on TLC’s hit show Jon & Kate plus 8 to certifiable douche bag! Following the separation and ultimate divorce of Reality TV’s favourite real-life couple, Jon decided that he missed out on his youth having kids so young and decided to sow as many wild oats, with as many trashy women, as possible! While some accused Kate of treating Jon poorly on the show, no one could justify his outrageous and childish behaviour following the split. From dating his ex-wife’s plastic surgeon’s young daughter, to staging break-ins to get attention, Jon Gosselin tops the list of the worst Reality-TV Dad’s!
Hulk Hogan looked to regain some of his wrestling heyday glory by bringing his family back to TV in his own reality show Hogan Knows Best’. Unfortunately it seems that Hogan didn’t know best, and following the plunge into the reality TV world, his personal life seemed to fall apart. His marriage of over 20 years ended and his son Nick was sentenced to jail time for a 2007 car accident that seriously injured his passenger. Maybe the Hulk should stick to wrestling.
Joe Simpson is father to Jessica and Ashlee, and is known to be one of the creepiest and most meddling fathers in Reality TV. He’s made offhanded comments about his daughter’s breast size, has been accused of interfering in daughter Jessica’s marriage to Nick Lachey (some even claiming that his meddling caused their eventual split) and has even sold pictures of his daughters to the gossip rags! Talk about creepy!
Richard Heene/Laurence Sunderland
Now these Dads went so far as to use their children to try and gain fame as reality stars. Who can forget Richard Heene? The father of the infamous Balloon Boy’ who hatched the plan to convince the world that his young son had climbed into a self-made hot air balloon and was floated aimlessly across the sky! Or Laurence Sunderland, the father of 16 year-old teen sailor Abby Sunderland, who signed a reality TV deal weeks after the world feared that Abby was lost at sea (thankfully she was found unharmed) to exploit his family because he was broke. These kids never stood a chance.
The older I get, the happier I am that my parents were boring and typical!
