The Bachelorette Finalists: Which One is REALLY Ready to Settle Down and Have Babies?Lulu and Moxleys Mom
While Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky, 25, runs around Los Angeles looking fairly ridiculous (does ABC not employ a stylist?), the viewing audience is left to wonder whether in the end she picks Chris Lambton or Roberto Martinez to be her future husband (or fiance for a few months as the case usually is). Fedotowsky has spoken of her readiness to have babies, so she should consider in her decision which of these men might be ready for the same. And we’re here to help analyze the final two, one of which probably would have already been sent home if Frank Neuschaefer hadn’t gotten cold feet. Fedotoswky pretty much said on Jimmy Kimmel last night that he would have been in the top two had he not high-tailed it back to the Windy City to be with his ex-girlfriend. So let’s analyze the remaining suitors and guess who is more ready for love, marriage and the baby carriage:
Photo: Pacific Coast News
Name: Roberto Martinez
Age: 26, one year older than Ali
Residence: Charleston, SC
Occupation: Insurance Agent. (But, let’s face it, he really wants to be a pro baseball player. He took Ali to the stadium where he used to play ball DRESSED IN HIS UNIFORM and was seen recently caressing a baseball in bed. This man has dreams that have gone unfulfilled. Look for a mid-life crisis in 15 years wherein he leaves his family, buys a Porsche 911 and takes up with an 18-year-old to relive his youth.)
What he likes to do for fun: Hang at the beach with a boat, guitar, dominos and good people. (On the plus side, he can strum lullabyes to the baby.)
What is his worst date: Double date in high school where his date cried because she spilled ketchup. (That’s his worst date EVER? This guy has more living to do before he settles down.)
His favorite book: The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson. (Warning sign! He’s into that self-help motivational crap.)
Tattoo Count: Zero (Currently it’s zero. But look for him to get one when his aforementioned mid-life crisis hits.)
Summary: He’s a little too young and a little too nostalgic for his baseball career. But certainly a seemingly nice guy who just has some more living to do before he has kids.
Name: Chris Lambton
Residence: Cape Cod, MA where he lives with his dad (He’s keeping his father company since his mother passed away — don’t hold living with a parent against him!)
Occupation: Landscaper. (This is vague. Does he own a landscaping company or does he trot around Cape Cod mowing neighbors’ lawns like a kid in high school?)
Typical Saturday Night is: Hanging out in a bar with friends. (Warning! One will need to be home changing diapers on a Saturday night if one gets married and has babies! But I think he’d be willing to give bar-hopping up for family life.)
Biggest achievement to date: Teaching New York City high school kids for five years, and making a difference. (See? He likes kids!)
Who he admires the most: His dad — who went through so much and never left when the going go tough, and never gave up. (Good sign when they admire their dad!)
His favorite book: The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho (He believes in hard work, hope and faith. Plus, remember the character in the Alchemist makes his way back to his one true love?)
Tattoo Count: One, of his late mother’s signature. (I’m trying to get over this, because as you see he’s my favorite guy left standing.)
Summary: Here is a family man who is ready to settle down and have one of his own. However, does he want to settle down with Ali, or just get married in general?
Basically, I think these are both quality people, other than the fact they are on a reality show looking for a life partner. But Chris is probably more ready for commitment, marriage and babies than Roberto. But as Kimmel said to Ali last night, “I don’t think you pick either of these guys.” Ditto. What do you think?
