The Best & Worst Dressed Moms at The MET Ball-From Goth to GlamSunny Chanel
The Costume Institute Gala is a great opportunity to call the sitter, get your stylist on the line and wear a really big dress. These eleven ladies did just take and took to the red carpet for the party celebrating the new exhibition American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity. Check out the best and worst of the red carpet A-list moms here.
(above) The Best: Jennifer Lopez looked stunning on the red carpet in her Zuhair Murad gown. Fit for a queen, a diva and/or a movie star. Glad she didn’t pair it with the beehive.
The Best: Sarah Jessica Parker looked as if she was just dripping in light gold in this simple gown. Classic, understated and very tasteful. Very Halston. And she just happened to get a gig as their chief creative officer for their Halston Heritage line, pretty handy for her.
The Worst: Tina Fey, yeah she went there. She wore a jump suit. Seriously…a jump suit. With a zipper all the way down the front. I love her, but what was she thinking? It may be Yves Saint Laurent but if YSL jumped off a bridge, would you?
The Worst: Love Gwen Stefani but this L.A.M.B. gown looked like it was owned by a goth who oddly liked to wear white. The tulle over her black bra makes it look unfinished and the fit makes her look like she could have a bun in the oven, that or many hot dogs AND buns.
The Best: Jessica Alba went totally old school Hollywood glamor in this silky and slinky Sophie Theallet gown. And according to a twitter report, it was so tight that she had trouble going up the stairs and had to have her husband help her.
The Best OR The Worst – Gisele Bundchen gets bonus points for wearing this edgy super short Alexander Wang fringed gown so soon after having a baby, but to be honest, I can’t figure out if I love it or hate it?
The Best: Brooke Shields was designer Michael Kors arm candy for the gala. And he probably dressed her too. That’s one of those perks of having fashion designer pals.
The Best: Kate Hudson wore a pal hue again on the red carpet. She really is feeling the light these days. And the low V neckline of this Stella McCartney dress shows off her new ‘assets’.
The Worst: Gwyneth and Angelina both had their own goth moments on the red carpet, and now it’s Maggie Gyllenhaal’s turn. Yeah, this Louis Vuitton gown is pretty cool but it looks like she’s going to a death rock booty call instead of too a glamorous gala.
The Best: Nicole Richie left the funky boho pieces at home and went classy with this silver metallic Marc Jacobs number. She cleans up pretty nice.
The Worst: Vera Farmiga was apparently feeling blue this evening. This Sophie Theallet
gown has alot going on. This, that, that and this. It looks like a what a 13-year-old girl fantasy gown.
