The Gosselin children – twins, Mady and Cara, 8 1/2, and sextuplets, Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel, 5 – all wish their parents, Jon and Kate, could get back together.
Appearing on Larry King Live, Kate Gosselin answered some questions about how the children are handling the pending divorce.
Kate said she does talk to the kids about the divorce. “They wish that we could be together. My goal was peace. We’ve achieved that numerous times.” She said the children “understand the process, they’re working through it,” and “they’re dealing very well, considering.”
Still, it must be so hard for them, especially the little ones.
Larry asked Kate if Jon wanting to quit their TLC show was true. She said, “Jon’s opinions and his goals are his own.” If he did leave, would TLC change the format or title of the once-hit show? “That would be a question for the network,” added Gosselin.
Kate has no plans to quit and will continue as “long as it’s healthy and safe for the kids.” There could possibly be a sixth season despite ratings falling for Jon & Kate Plus 8.
Does Kate think Jon is a good dad? Larry King asked her that and her response? “He is. His decisions right now are not ones that I would necessarily make.”
Kate said that they still share the same religious faith and agree on how the children will be schooled. She said there’s a lot they agree on, which obviously is good for the kids.
As for Kate dating? She’s not ready. She said, “No. Too busy. I’m lonely but I’m very busy.”
