I loved this book. I loved it because I got so engrossed in the writing that I actually started to think like the maids in the book. Especially Minny. My husband would ask me about something and I would respond in “Minny-Accent” talk. Hilarious. The hardest part was reading about Celia and all of the blood spots in her room. So incredibly heart breaking for those who struggle with infertility and miscarriage today. LOVED this book! Looking forward to the movie!

  5. Mackenzie says:

I read the book and I loved the language that was used for each character. At first it was hard to understand but before long I felt as if I began to talk like Aibileen!

  6. Izzy says:

I have read The Help 2 times! I am a southern girl and this is my favorite book because I can relate so much! I was a Phi Mu just like the author too!

  7. Susan says:

Great book, couldn’t put it down. Really interesting characters and a great insight to a different world.

  8. Catherine says:

I read the book with my book club. As disturbing as the content was, our discussions were focused on the idea that much of this was happening in our lifetimes – or just slightly before in my case :)
We are planning to go together to see the film adaptation.

  9. Salena says:

I LOVED the book. One of my favorite parts was when Aibleen would always tell Mae Mobley her stories & how beautiful she was. I also loved reading about Minny. She always made me laugh. I was amazed at how Kathyrn Stockett was able to capture some of the African American personalities so vividly. :) & I’m so excited to see the film.
