The Nate Berkus Show Snags Interview with Elizabeth Edwards

The Nate Berkus ShowIt certainly pays to count Oprah Winfrey as a friend!  The Oprah Winfrey show designer,Nate Berkus, has snagged a coveted interview with Elizabeth Edwards for its September 13 premiere of his new talk show.

The Nate Berkus Show will debut with an indept interview with Edwards, whose personal story of survival has resonated with women across the country.  The interview will focus on how Edwards is moving forward with her life following the demise of her marriage to former presidential candidateSenator John Edwards.  Elizabeth will also talk about how her children have helped her reclaim her life.

A portion of the interview takes place at Red Window, a Chapel Hill home furnishings store owned by Edwards.  It is the perfect locale for her to to talk about her love of interior design and how that passion is helping her move on and face the challenges ahead.  She will later join Berkus on the set of his New York based studio where the duo plan on inspiring another woman to reclaim her life.

Of his time with Elizabeth, Berkus says: “I found Elizabeth to be incredibly honest, funny and just a pleasure to be around. Her passion to build a new life for herself is nothing if not inspiring. And, the fact that we both love design, gave us an instant connection.”

He added: “Being around her reaffirmed my love of strong women. They take their lives into their own hands and aren’t bound by any parameters or rules. I think viewers will be happily surprised by her candor, pure wit and love of life. To have the opportunity to sit with her and share her story, in her own words, is why I wanted to do my show – so viewers can see not only who people are, but who they aspire to be. I believe aspiration can happen at any time in one’s life — who better to demonstrate that fact than Elizabeth. ”

Look for The Nate Berkus Show to premiere on September 13th nationwide.
