The Obamas Volunteer for Martin Luther King Day: You Can, Too! MLK Day of Service

mlkMartin Luther King Day is observed today. Federal offices are closed, there’s no mail delivery, many schools are closed.  Despite the fact that we all love a good shopping day with sales, that is not what today is about.

Not only do we remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. today, but it can also be a day of service.  In fact, by volunteering today, you are putting his ideals into action. Want to find a volunteer opportunity in your area?

President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama will be  participating in a community service project in the Washington area.

You can click to find a volunteer opportunity in your area and participate in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. MLK once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: ‘What are you doing for others?’”
