Steve Carell aka Michael Scott is leaving the wildly popular hit show The Office, he’s been busy with that whole being a movie star thing. Steve will be leaving behind some big old shoes to be filled. There have been various names bandied about of who should be hired for the job but one name that is finding it’s top to the pile of resumes? The acclaimed actor Harvey Keitel. So why would Harvey be a good fit for the office?
It would be a much needed departure. The producers wouldn’t want to get another bumbling boss, that wouldn’t be wise. They would and should be going in another direction. But the thing is they haven’t even started talking to him yet! The show’s executive producer said, “I haven’t started any talks with his people, but Harvey would do a great job—a very different energy. And we don’t want to bring in another Michael, having someone play a very similar character because we have such a high regard for Steve.”
Harvey is known more for his edgy intense film rolls like in Martin Scorsese’s Mean Streets and Taxi Driver and Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. But he has been slumming on the streets of TV of late having starred in the American version of Life on Mars.
So do you think this 71-year-old acclaimed actor would be a good match for show?
