Earlier today, The Today Show featured Cheryl Kilodavis and her son Dyson who likes to wear dresses and call himself “princess boy.”
Cheryl wrote a book about their journey together as a family, which was picked up by publishing group Simon & Schuster, and is used as an anti-bullying tool.
What is truly remarkable about this family, is that Cheryl lets her son be exactly who he wants to be. And other celebrity parents such as Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Gavin Rossdale, and Gwen Stefani are doing just the same.
In the past year, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt and Kingston Rossdale have come under fire for wearing clothes that “belong” to the opposite gender. And being the amazing parents that they are, Brad, Angie, Gavin, and Gwen let it be.
This is a great sign that America is going in a positive direction in 2011. Acceptance is on its way.
How do you feel about children dressing outside of their gender?
