We in Babbleland (Babble-onia?) have been discussing the very serious topic of which British prince is the cutest one. The majority favors Prince Harry, but I’ve always had a soft spot for Prince William, who not only looks more like his mother, Diana, but who also has been a model son, brother, husband and heir to the throne.
Fortunately for all of us, there’s no wrong answer. Both princes are handsome, charming, brave (both have distinguished military careers) — and best of all, they’re both eager to pass on their genes to a new generation.
Both of them spoke candidly to Katie Couric in last night’s special, The Jubilee Queen With Katie Couric. And while William wouldn’t comment on rumors that his wife, Kate Middleton, is pregnant (“Tight-lipped,” was all he said), he was very candid about wanting to be a dad.
“I’m just very keen to have a family and both Catherine and I, you know, are looking forward to having a family in the future,” he said.
He added that this desire may have a bearing on whether to sign up for another tour of duty with the Royal Air Force or stay closer to home and devote himself full-time to official duties and family planning. Meanwhile, younger brother Harry isn’t under the same pressure to add to the royal lineage, but that doesn’t mean he’s not serious about being a father.
“I’ve longed for kids since I was very, very young,” he told Katie. “And so I’m just waiting to find the right person, someone who’s willing to take on the job.”
Of course, that person hasn’t yet come along — his relationship with Chelsy Davy is long over — but we suspect it won’t be long before we’ll be hearing news of another royal wedding (and bump watch!).
