Now that their first kiss (or two) as husband and wife are behind them, Prince William and Princess Kate are getting ready to sit down to their first meal as a married couple, courtesy of the Queen herself.
The royal couple are being joined at the formal morning reception by 650 guests to enjoy a mostly formal meal with a few touches of whimsy thrown in for the young couple.
What’s on the menu at the Queen’s royal wedding reception?
The guests will be treated to an assortment of canapes including: Cornish Crab Salad on Lemon Blini, Pressed Duck Terrine with Fruit Chutney, Roulade of Goats Cheese with Caramelised Walnuts, Assortment of Palmiers and Cheese Straws, Scottish Smoked Salmon Rose on Beetroot Blini, and Quail Eggs with Celery Salt. For dessert, the couple has opted to serve White Chocolate Ganache Truffle and Milk Chocolate Praline with Nuts.
Of course, they will have a pair of royal wedding cakes – a formal cake designed by Fiona Cairns and constructed of 17 fruit cakes, and a chocolate biscuit cake, specifically requested by William.
