The Secret’s Out! Jessica Simpson Breaks Her Pregnancy News on Twitter

Jessica Simpson’s Christmas twitpic.

There’s been a lot of “is she or isn’t she” speculation over the last few weeks, but Jessica Simpson just broke the news via Twitter: She really is pregnant again!

Appropriately enough, Jess picked Christmas morning to tweet this adorable picture of her daughter, Maxwell Drew. Festively dressed in a candy-cane-striped onesie and matching hairbow, the 7-month-old sits on a sandy path inscribed with the message “BIG SIS.”

“Merry Christmas from my family to yours!” Jess tweeted.

Us Weekly first put the word out last month with a cover story quoting a source who had the inside scoop.  But Jessica and her rep declined to confirm – or deny – the piece.

It’s likely that the singer/actress and her fiance, Eric Johnson, were trying to time the news just right.

Like most moms-to-be, she no doubt wanted to wait until the all-important first trimester had passed and they were sure the baby was safe and healthy.

This has also been a busy time for Jess; she was recently a bridesmaid at the wedding of her best friend CaCee Cobb to former Scrubs actor Donald Faison. She and her family flew to Hawaii for the occasion.

Most of all, there was her latest Weight Watchers ad to consider. The spot is airing for the first time today, showing Jess at her lowest weight since giving birth to Maxwell. Fifty pounds lighter, she declares, “I had no idea I could be so in control and so free at the same time!”

Now that she’s brought her WW collaboration to a successful end, she can relax and focus on enjoying this second pregnancy. The Us source says that this new baby wasn’t planned, but “she really is overjoyed!”

What do you think? Are you excited for Jessica and her family?
