Behind Jim & Jenny's Split: Did Jenny's Son Play A Role?

It came as a shock to everyone when Jim Carrey tweeted the news of his split from Jenny McCarthy. Not only did they seem like a rock solid couple, but you had to wonder whether or not he had told her before he took to the Internet.

It has now come to light that Jim was actually advised by his PR rep to make his statement via the popular social networking site when it was discovered that tabloid Star magazine had scooped the story of their split.

And what’s more-they learned the reason behind this celebrity couples break-up…

Jim Carrey, funny man of a thousand rubbery faces, suffers from depression. Who would have ever guessed that the man who can make so many people laugh has a case of the sads?

The couple always remained united in public yet they have had their share of breaks. “Jenny has been very supportive of Jim, but he has refused to take medication that seems necessary for his condition,” a source claims to Star.

This would be hard for any woman, but with a seven year old autistic son, Jenny needed more support and stability.”It was such an emotional roller coaster for her. When he’d get really down, he’d just disappear. He would hide out in a hotel or one of his homes, not answering her calls,” the source said.

There has been no statement from Jim on whether or not he will stay in Jenny’s son Evan’s life, but they seem to be making this break amicable. Jim also has a daughter, Jane, 22, from a previous marriage, and Jenny has made a public promise, again via Twitter, that she will continue to be a part of her life saying “I will stay committed to Jane and will always keep Jim as a leading man in my heart.”

Awe. We have our fingers crossed that Jim starts getting the help he needs and the two of them reconcile.
