'The Smurfs' topped the weekend box office.

The Smurfs may not be getting the best reviews, but it sure hasn’t stopped families from seeing the 3-D animated film over the weekend! Smurfs tied with Cowboys & Aliens as the top film for the weekend.

Estimates are still too close to call, but from the looks of things, both movies pulled in $36.2 million!

Third place went to Chris Evans‘ Captain America: The First Avenger, followed by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2.

Rounding out the top five was the Ryan Gosling and Steve Carell film Crazy, Stupid, Love.

That’s a lot of kid-friendly movies topping off the box office this weekend. Which movie have you seen or are you hoping to see?

And which movie is better: Smurfs or Harry Potter?
