'The Social Network' Wins the Critics' Choice Award Best Picture

The Social Network won the Critics’ Choice award for best picture. Inception won the most awards, winning six awards total. The Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, bestowed by the Broadcast Film Critics Association.

The Social Network has already won awards from several critics groups, including those in New York and Los Angeles and the National Society of Film Critics.

Colin Firth won for his portrayal of King George VI in The King’s Speech. Firth is winning raves as the King who overcame a stammer with the help of an unconventional speech therapist played by Geoffery Rush.

The Facebook film is up for six Golden Globe Awards Sunday night.  The Social Network and The King’s Speech are competing for the most awards on Sunday night.

Natalie Portman won best actress for Black Swan. Portman is a heavy favorite for an Oscar nod for her role as a crazed ballerina.

The Social Network which chronicles the founding of Facebook, got the nod for Best Director for David Fincher. The Social Network’s Aaron Sorkin won for adapted screenplay.

Inception won the MOST awards, taking home a total of six awards. Inception won for cinematography, art direction, editing, visual effects, sound and best action movie.
