Tiger Woods has backed out of the Chevron World Challenge in California, his last scheduled tournament of 2009. Hey, at least when he backed out the tournament he didn’t hit a tree. Sorry, I couldn’t resist.
On his website, Woods cites injuries from his car crash as the reason for his withdrawal. “I am extremely disappointed that I will not be at my tournament this week,” Woods wrote in a post on Monday. “I am certain it will be an outstanding event and I’m very sorry that I can’t be there.”
The posting also said he was “unable to play … due to injuries sustained in a one-car accident.” Woods and his wife Elin Nordegren have repeatedly refused interview requests from Florida state troopers about Friday’s car accident.
Come on Tiger – come clean with the details! If David Letterman could do it, so can you. Also, time to show your kids Sam and Charlie what an honest man would do in this situation.
