Tom Cruise on Oprah! What He Said About Suri's Clothes!

Tom Cruise and Oprah Winfrey sat down today to talk about something more exciting than Brooke Shields, Katie Holmes, or any of the other topics that have led to animated interviews with the movie star over the years. What could that be, you ask? Why Suri Cruise and her famous wardrobe, of course!

Side note: this is why I love Oprah. Cruise was barely in his seat before Oprah popped the big question: Is Suri a fashionista for four-year olds?

“Ever since she was a little girl, she just likes to dress herself,” Cruise told Oprah. “Whatever she wants to do. Whatever she wants to wear, she wears it. Doesn’t a girl like to wear what she wants to wear? I’m not going to tell her different. She’s got great taste.”

Well, I’m not going to argue there. And for the record, I particularly like the pig slippers.

Cruise further described his daughter with Katie Holmes as “a happy, easy, fun girl”. And their secret to handling the paparazzi, when it comes to Suri?“It’s been there her whole life. She just deals with it,” Cruise claims. “We don’t make it a problem. You just get used to it after so long. We don’t get nervous about it. Kate is a very relaxed person.”

I gotta say, if you are looking for crazy antics or silly sentences, you’ll have to hit the videotape from a few years back. Today, Cruise was calm, staid, and gushing with pride about his family, effusively praising not only Suri but 17-year old Bella, “She has a very strong sense of herself”  and 15-year-old Conner, whom he described as smart, charismatic and “a natural” at everything. And of course, he repeated the sentiment that he expressed so memorably five years ago on Oprah’s very stage: his love for Katie Holmes. This time, though, he stayed seated.
