Top Chef Host Padma Lakshmi Loses Baby Weight While Eating for a Living

Padma Lakshmi on losing baby weight while being the Top Chef host

It’s hard enough to lose the baby weight, but when you literally eat for a living, it’s an even harder challenge. Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi has this challenge.

She says that during every Top Chef season, she goes up one or two dress sizes.  Add to that the baby weight and she had to work even harder to stay in shape. Padma says that she had to find creative times to work out: like getting up early or working out while one year-old Krishna was napping.

Padma talks about how she balances her career with motherhood: “”It’s hard. It’s a balancing act and every day is different and you just have to know what your priorities are and that the little one comes first. I’m very lucky that my network is very, very supportive of my family and the fact that I have a child who is young. We have a nursery on set and it’s right next door to my dressing room and we just work around it. I’m not unlike any mother. I don’t have all the answers, and I just try my best.”
