I never thought Tori Spelling would be a DIY kinda gal. When someone grows up in a 123-room mansion, you just kinda assume that doing things like making your own playdoh wouldn’t be on the menu. But Tori is proving us wrong.
The mom of two apparently made some clay with her kids the other day. She posted on Twitter saying “Making homemade playdough with the kids! So easy and fun. And safe 4 them!” Click thru for a pic of her son Liam with his creation and a recipe to make it yourself.
2 cups flour
2 cups warm water
1 cup salt
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1 Tablespoon cream of tartar (optional is used for improved elasticity)
Mix ingredients together in a pan. Stir over low heat. Let it thicken until it looks kinda like mashed potatoes and it pulls from the sides of the pan and gets clumpy.
Let the dough cool and put it on a clean counter or board. Knead it until it gets smooth. Divide the dough into balls. Add the food coloring (you may want to wear gloves to avoid getting the dye on your hands). And that’s it! To store, keep the playdough in an airtight container. If it starts to dry out, you can add a little water to soften.
