Sometimes you don’t fully appreciate the little joys in life until you’ve been without them for a while – or until a crisis makes you realize what’s important.
Tori Spelling is finding that out now that she’s settling back down to normal life as a wife and mom. This year has been both joyful and terrifying: She became pregnant with her fourth child, Finn, but developed a serious condition called placenta previa that threatened both her baby’s life and her own. Then, shortly after Finn was born, Tori went back into the hospital for emergency surgery after her c-section scars split.
But now the Craft Wars host is healthy and glad to be back with husband Dean McDermott and the kids. From her recent tweets, we can see that she’s having fun enjoying the little things.
For instance, she’s relishing being able to eat a food that was off-limits for quite a while. “After 2 years pregnant I finally got to have RAW fish again,” she said the other day. “#LovesMeSomeSushi”
She also posted a picture of her hand looking less than its manicured best, clucking, “I don’t care how many kids you have…Nails like this are unacceptable!”
But best of all, she’s there for Finn, Hattie, Stella and Liam – and she even appreciates their chaotic moments because she was away from them for so long.
Once, she told Stella to be careful with something she was doing, because she was going to make a mess. “She turned 2me & said, ‘Mom. It’s ok, I’m a kid. Thats wht we do…Make messes.’ #ShutMeUp”
Then there was the day her two babies had a run-in. “Finn got his 1st sibling inflicted boo boo,” she wrote. “Hattie crawled over &smashed an iPod on his head. He cried, she cried, I think I cried a little.”
Yesterday, the family went to a local farm for some fall fun, and Tori learned a few things: “A tractor slide’s worthy of 20 slides, a pig can weigh 1k lbs, &Hattie can lift a pumpkin 1/2 her bodyweight.”
But now the celeb mom faces a true holiday dilemma: “Liam and Stella both want to be killers for Halloween,” she frets. “What does that say about me as a parent?”
Good thing she’s into crafting!
