They’re ready to go! How long will it take Tori to get from Toronto to Los Angeles?
And baby makes three! Tori Spelling and husband, Dean McDermott, are expecting this fall—baby-to-be will join big brother Liam, born March 2007, and big sister Stella, born June 2008. As the founder of the Los Angeles boutique InvenTORI and star of Oxygen’s Tori & Dean: sTORIbook Weddings preps to enter the Baby Zone once again, she opens up about her golden rule, her best and worst, and more.
What’s your golden rule of parenting?
Be a united front. If one parent makes a decision the other parent needs to back them up. The kids need to know they can’t run to other parent when one says no.
Describe the best moment of parenting so far.
One night after I read the kids a story and put them to bed and as I said goodnight Liam said, “Mommy, you are the best mommy ever” and then Stella said, “Yeah! You’re the best Mommy ever.” Made my heart soar!
And the worst?
Worst was about two days later when I punished Liam for hitting his sister [and he] said, “Mommy, you are the worst mommy ever. And, I’m not going to be your friend.” It broke my heart.
Best advice you ever got?
Best advice was “Don’t listen to other people’s advice. Listen to your heart. You’re the mom. You’ll know what’s best.”
What’s the one thing you can’t live without?
Since you’re pregnant, let’s tweak this a bit. Finish this sentence: You know you’re in the belly zone when…
… you finish your meal, your husband’s, and your kids’—and you’re still hungry!
