Tragic: Mindy McCready Has Died

“Things have been hectic. But I’m still here…,” that was the last tweet that country star Mindy McCready posted on her Twitter account back in January. Sadly, the refrain, “I’m still here,” is no longer true. At the age of 37, Mindy McCready’s life was tragically cut short. It has been reported that she has died in her hometown of Heber Springs, Ark., and has left behind two young children – Zander, 6, and Zayne, 9-months-old. The cause of death, as Forbes is reporting, was an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

At the time of her death, her children were not not in her care, they were taken away by authorities after the death of her boyfriend David Wilson, a little over a month ago at the age of 34. No details of his death have been released but it was still under investigation. But his death had hit the troubled star very hard.

“Mindy needs to get help and we all care and love her and we want her to get the right help so she can move on. She is in a bad state right now, depressed and unhappy. It is not good,” a source told E! News.

McCready had recently been in an in-patient facility for treatment. “Since boyfriend (David Wilson) shot himself she has been in bed for 3 wks,” her father stated in court documents. “Sleeps all day. Drinks all night and is taking Rx drugs. Not bathing or even helping take care of her 2 children.” The judge wrote that “there is cause to find there is clear and convincing evidence that Respondent is in imminent danger of harm to herself or others, suicidal or gravely disabled.” She herself talked about her agony saying, “I have never gone through anything this painful,” she said. “He didn’t just touch my heart, he touched my soul. He was my soulmate.”

So far there are no details about her death, but we hope that her two children are taken care of in this horrible time.  Our condolences to her friends, fans and family.
