Britney Spears’ younger sis probably never thought she’d become the poster girl for young mothers. When the Zooey 101 star announced that she was pregnant in 2007, two years before Spears had reached the age of consent in California, the pronouncement created such a shock that Nickelodeon was forced to issue a statement addressing the predicament. The then 16-year-old stated in OK, "“I can'’t say it was something I was planning to do right now, but now that it'’s in my lap and that it'’s something I have to deal with, I'’m looking forward to being the best mom I can be."

The less famous of the Kardashian sisters chalks up her baby’s arrival to a lapse in birth control. “This probably sounds so dumb,” Kardashian admitted on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show, “but there’s so many times I’ll forget to take my pill and I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. I’ve done that several times and never really thought about it. It’s just so stupid.” Fast forward six months and mama and baby are doing well. Kourtney told Life and Style, “[Being a mom] is just so indescribable. You don't get how good being a parent feels until it happens to you.”

Despite having one child already, the stars of Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood got a big shock when Spelling announced in 2008 that she was pregnant with baby number two. “Stella was an unplanned pregnancy, and I think it happened so I could keep Patsy [the nanny] longer,” Tori told Cookie. “I am very sad [my own] Nanny and my dad never got to meet my kids.”

The laissez-faire family planning seems to work well for the couple. The Madden-Richie clan welcomed second child, Sparrow James Midnight Madden, in September of last year.

Neither Law nor Burke confirmed that their love baby was unplanned; Law’s spokesperson did. “Jude Law can confirm that, following a relationship last year, he has been advised that he is to be the father of a child due in the fall of this year,” the spokesman told EW in July of 2009. Sophia is

Ne-Yo, Monyette Shaw and Baby-To-Be

When soul singer Ne-Yo found out his girlfriend was pregnant, he told British TV show Live From Studio Five, “It feels good. It definitely wasn't something that was planned, but I'm 30 years old, so it's about that time. I'm really, really happy about it.” Announced in early August, it’s still too early to tell the sex of the baby, but you can be sure Ne-Yo and Shaw are busy brainstorming names anyway.

While playing the virgin Mary in The Nativity Story, Keisha Castle-Hughes, at 16, was carrying her boyfriend’s baby. “"Once I found out I was pregnant there was no decision really,” the Whale Rider star told People. “I was shocked, but it was just like, 'Okay, we are having a baby. That's great.'" Castle-Hughes and Hull are still together. They’re currently engaged but have no immediate plans
for a wedding.

"It was a shock,” the DWTS competitor said about her recently announced pregnancy. “We weren't even trying.” Rycroft may have gotten dumped by Jason Mesnick on The Bachelor but was picked up again shortly thereafter by former boyfriend Tye Strickland. The two wed this past December and announced the pregnancy in late July.

The star of Sin City and Fantastic Four planned on having children, just not when she did. "I can't say [the pregnancy] was a total accident, because you're aware of when you're being careful and when you're not," Alba told Allure. "It just happened so soon!" Alba married boyfriend Cash Warren in May of 2008 and delivered just three months later, calling baby Honor a “miracle.”

Candace Parker is an MVP on and off the court. The 23-year-old Los Angeles Sparks WNBA forward delivered her first child with husband and Denver Nuggets forward Shelden Williams. “I was surprised, but everything happens for a reason,” Parker told ESPN. Less than two months after Lailaa’s birth in spring of 2009, Parker returned to the WNBA, telling Sports Illustrated, “Now everything I do is for my daughter. She's going to be watching and I take that mindset with me. I want to be a good role model for her, show her girls can do anything guys can do."
