The VMA Awards 2010 are tonight, and the big question on everyone’s minds is whether Taylor Swift and Kanye West will actually be on stage at the same time after last year’s much-talked-about fiasco, when West stormed on stage when Swift was accepting an award, tore the microphone away from her, and said Beyonce should have won.
Both performers will be there tonight. They have actually gained a lot of free publicity from the whole mess, but they’d be setting a great example for kids if they could move beyond the controversy and perform together. That would show that Swift is capable of forgiveness she handled the whole thing with a lot of grace but you have to expect she’s sick of talking about it and that West is capable of humility, which, let’s be honest, has never been the “Golddigger” singer’s strong suit.
Swift has reportedly written a song about the incident that she will perform tonight. West, who did drop off the media spectrum for a while after the incident, has been saying that he also wrote a song about it he’d like Taylor to perform.
Since Swift draws heavily on her own experience for her songwriting, I’m dying to see what she’ll say tonight. She’s take the high road the whole way and has been a great example to children in that manner so far.
It would be great to see the two of them actually perform together, if Swift was game.
