19 Kids and Counting kicks off season 5 with a look at Josie, who was born 26-weeks premature, as she’s released from the hospital and returns home with the Duggars again.
The Duggars temporarily relocated to be near Josie when she was in the hospital in Little Rock. Now the whole Duggar clan is back home and celebrating the newest baby’s homecoming.
In the sneak peek video clip, mom Michelle says that Josie “was bigger and doing so good, I really felt like this was the time [to bring her home].”
Josie weighed just 1 lb., 6 oz. at birth and suffered some setbacks, but Michelle Duggar said during a Today show interview that “She is doing remarkable” and now weighs 11 lbs., 6 oz.
Dad Jim Bob Duggar commented on Josie being lactose intolerant, requiring lactose-free formula and supplemental oxygen when she sleeps, but added that “By the time she’s 2 she should be caught up developmentally.”
As for adding baby number 20, the Duggars are up for it. Michelle told Meredith Vieira: “We’ll just wait and see what God has in store. When we look at Josie … how we went through the challenge we did, we would do it again.”
Will you watch the 19 Kids & Counting premiere on August 3 at 9 p.m.? Do you think another baby is in the Duggar’s future – or should they call it quits?
