Lee DeWyze Rocks the NFC Championship Half-time Show

Last year at this time Lee DeWyze was a paint salesman sitting on his couch watching the NFL Playoffs.  This year the American Idol winner hit the stage to perform at the half-time show of the NFC Championship amid a bit of off-field drama.

Watch Lee DeWyze’s NFC Championship Performance….

Apparently Lee DeWyze was originally tapped to sing the national anthem at today’s playoff championship, but got booted to the half-time show when opera singer Jim Cornelison was given the honors instead.   Cornelison was reportedly given the job due to some hometown superstitions — he sang before last weeks Bears v. Seahawks game and before the Blackhawks hockey games.

Lee rolled with the punches and performed two of his songs, Sweet Serendipity and Live It Up, during the half-time game.    Given that the Bears ended up losing the game, they probably should have stuck with the plan to have Lee DeWyze sing the national anthem!

What did you think of Lee DeWyze NFC Championship performance?
