What I Learned About Dina Manzo's Big Fat $1Million WeddingSunny Chanel
I had heard that The Real Housewives of New Jersey wasn’t the first time Dina Manzo had been on TV. She had broken her reality show cherry in an episode of VH1s My Big Fat Fabulous Wedding years ago. How big and fat was Dina and Tommy’s wedding? It reportedly cost $1,150,000. Yes not pesos, dollars. So I watched the vintage episode from the vault so you don’t have to, what did I learn?
Well first, you finally get to meet her husband Tommy, who opted not to be involved with the filming of the Real Housewives. That’s worth the price of admission right there.
Dina openly talked about how Tommy cheated on her. Tommy said “I was not a good boy.” But he came to his senses saying, “She’s my best friend, time to just marry her.”
They had 605 guests at the wedding, most people that Tommy knew.
There were $1000 bottles of wine on each of the tables.
The cake was gigantic with Dina wanting it to be “Bigger than any other wedding cake anyone has ever seen.” Dina said, “I want a huge ass cakes flowers, butterflies… turtles.”
Her Badgley Mischka dress cost $10,000, which she bought from Kleinfelds of Say Yes to The Dress fame. Her sisters, including Caroline, came with her.
Dina wanted flowers everywhere. And she spent a stunning sum of over $250,000 on floral arrangements. Her husband said she Dina bought out two-thirds of Holland.
They had five bands, including the Stylistics, play their reception, spending about $77,000 on entertainment.
Dina wanted to walk down the aisle to “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”
There was lots of crying on Dina’s park with her carefully trying not to poke herself in the eye with her long French manicured talons.
Some other highlights from their wedding, they had a white dove release, a cake with explosions, hand rolled cigar bar, sushi bar, piles of lobsters and steaks, chocolate fondue fountains, an vodka bar made of ice and breakfast served after 1am.
But one of the cutest things was seeing Dina’s daughter Lexi. She is by her mom’s side a majority of the time. Comforting her mom when she gets upset and all dressed for her role in the wedding. Very cute.
