Wheel Of Fortune Loses Its Voice

Wheel of Fortune

Wheel of Fortune loses its voice

Wheel Of Fortune is one of the longest running game show’s around, and the voice of that game show, Charlie O’Donnell was as much a part of the show as Pat Sajak or Vanna White. Charlie O’Donnell was best known for his ‘Wheel of Fortune’ delivery to introduce the show and was with the show for 28 years.

Charlie O’Donnell worked with Wheel of Fortune from 1975 to 1980, and again from 1989 until his death from heart failure last Monday. Prior to his passing Johnny Gilbert, the announcer for Jeopardy had been filling in for him here and there.

Pat Sajak told The Times that “He quite literally was the voice of ‘Wheel. He had an old-school style that was a little over the top. It was perfect for the show. We’re a little over the top.”
Our condolences to his family.
