The movie trailer for the last film Whitney Houston made before her untimely passing in February has finally been released. Houston stars in the new film, Sparkle, with Jordin Sparks and Cee-Lo Green.
Houston, whose greatest triumph was raising her daughter Bobbi Kristina, 19, will be remembered as playing the mother to three girls in this remake of a movie by the same name from 1976.
Sparkle follows the story of three sisters, all just as beautiful as Houston herself, who try to make it as an all-girl singing group during the Motown-era. Sparks, former American Idol winner, plays the youngest sister, Sparkle, and Whitney, who plays her mother, had a musical career of her own.
This film also marks Whitney’s first feature-film role in 15 years! This was supposed to be her comeback, but will fittingly serve as her swan song.
Sparkle will hit theaters on August 17. Take a look at the trailer below!
