Gwyneth Paltrow is one of the most talked about celebrity moms, but not always in the most flattering ways.
Just last week, Paltrow joined Twitter and Facebook and started tweeting photos of her kids. Then a few days later, she took an ad out seeking a genius tutor her children. She has been called an elitist mom more than once. Some say she lives such a privileged life that she cannot relate to the typical working mother.
Paltrow recently said she will not have any more kids, and the reason may be more relatable than you think.
In an interview with the Daily Mirror, she confesses that she became so depressed after her son Moses was born that she has ruled out having any more children. After the 2006 birth of her second child with Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin, Paltrow said she “felt like a zombie”:
“Looking at Moses makes me want to have another one, he is sooo gorgeous! But I don’t think so. I don’t know if I can go there again, not sleep and be depressed for two years.”
Unaware that she even had postpartum depression at the time, she says she had no idea what was wrong. didn’t know what was wrong.”
She said it was a feeling very different than she had after giving birth to Apple, who is now seven. “I felt really out of my body. I felt really disconnected. I felt really down. I felt pessimistic.”
Did you suffer from postpartum depression? Did it affect your willingness to have more children?
