Will Ferrell has spilled that he might be joining The Office full-time. The Ricky Bobby star will join the NBC hit comedy series for four episodes to wrap up this season. Ferrell told Entertainment Weekly:
“My character’s name is Deangelo Vickers, he loves the American Southwest, and he is just kind of in his own way going to step into Michael Scott’s shoes and try to fill them.”
Just days after Ferrell hinted that he’d be coming on full-time on The Office as Steve Carell’s replacement, the producers of the hit series say his comments were misconstrued.
The Office producer Paul Lieberstein told US Magazine:
“Will was joking — but he commits to his jokes so fully that we’re hoping he’s with us long term, just as a bit that won’t end.”
Here’s a quick clip of Will Ferrell and Adam McKay interviewed by MTV News at the Comedy Central Comedy Awards Sunday night. “The Comedy Awards” airs April 10 at 9 p.m. (EST) on Comedy Central.
