Fans of The Office were delighted to see a very sweet hug at the end of Thursday’s episode. A hug between two of comedies hottest contemporaries…Steve Carell and Will Ferrell. Towards the end of the season, as Carell begins to make his much anticipated exit, it looks as if he passes the Dunder Miflin reigns onto his replacement Will Ferrell. But before you think Will has given up his blockbuster film career for the small scene, think again. He’s just a temp, a very very well paid temp that is. So how many episodes will Will Ferrell be doing?
According to reports, he has signed on to do four episodes.
Rainn Wilson (who plays Dwight Schrute), aold Ellen that he wouldn’t be staying.
“I don’t think the 20 million he makes per movie is going to allow him to do that. But no, he’s not staying on. It’s just for a short period of time. He’s the coolest guy. He literally called our producers and said, ‘I heard Steve is leaving. I’m a huge fan of the show. I’m a huge fan of Steve’s. I’m a good friend of Steve’s. What can I do?’
“And they’re like, ‘Well, come on and do 4 episodes.’ And he just did it.”
