Jillian Michaels adopting a baby from the Congo

Celeb trainer Jillian Michaels may spend most of her time helping other people transform their lives, but now she’s the one whose life is about to have a major change. Jillian has started the process of trying to adopt a baby from the Congo. At 37-years old, it sounds like she is more than ready to become a mom!

Michaels told US Weekly, “My dossier, which is your paperwork portfolio, is in to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. So the paperwork is done, and now it’s just a waiting game. It could be six months, twelve months; it could be two years. Or, it could be tomorrow! They call you and they say, ‘Oh, we have your referral,’ which is essentially the child they match you up with, and you go overseas and you get him or her.”

Jillian had expressed an interest in adopting a child last spring, when she received criticism for not wanting to actually be pregnant and have a biological child. She told Women’s Health, “I can’t handle doing that to my body.”, and people gave her a hard time because they assumed she was worried about ruining her tight physique with a pregnancy.

Pregnancy isn’t for everyone, and Jillian will no doubt be an amazing mother to the little boy or girl who finally comes home with her from the Congo.

We can’t wait to hear the news!
