Who is William Daley, Obama's new chief of staff?

Boy that Daley family stays busy in politics. Today William Daley was appointed President Barack Obama’s new chief of staff, which has people buzzing since the centrist Daley has criticized the president for being too lefty. Daley is from the famed Chicago Daleys, the youngest son of late Chicago Mayor Richard J. Daley, whose son Richard M. Daley served in the same post. Here’s five things you need to know about new chief of staff William Daley, who is a father of three.

1. He served as secretary of commerce for three years under Bill Clinton.

2. He worked on Al Gore’s campaign in 2000.

3. In fact, he played a role in the infamous Florida recount and was portrayed in HBO’s movie “Recount” by Mitch Pileggi (who looks a lot like him!).

4. He’s seen by some as urging Democrats to pursue a more corporate agenda he has worked for JP Morgan and SBC Communications.

5. He attended Loyola University in Chicago and is 62 years old.
