The small, private liberal arts college is nestled in the beautiful Berkshires of Massachusetts, and dates back 217 years. It has a population of just over 2,000 students.
According to the Washington Post, “Williams has one of the lowest average student debt loads, $9,296, a number that could go even lower; this spring the college replaced all of its loans with grants.”
One of Williams College’s most famous alumni is the late George Steinbrenner, owner of the New York Yankees, who graduated from the school in 1952.
Some other famous Williams grads include artist Laylah Ali, Broadway composer Stephen Sondheim, and the 20th President of the United States, James A. Garfield.
Williams College was number four on Forbes list last year.
