Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 and Winnie the Pooh open next Friday

Next Friday is a big movie day! Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 comes out in theaters, marking the end to the series. Potter fans already have their tickets and are ready to witness the end.

But, are your kids ready for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2? I’m a little unique among my mom friends because I am taking my six year-old to see the final Harry Potter. You might be more comfortable taking your children to see Winnie the Pooh, which also comes out next Friday.

Keep reading to find out which movie is better for your kids and to watch a hilariously cute Winnie the Pooh Harry Potter spoof:

Toddlers and preschoolers: go for the family-friendly not-scary rated G Winnie the Pooh. As for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, you are going to have to be the judge for your children.  Have they watched the other movies? This last one won’t make sense if they haven’t. And the movies get darker as they go along. So, start with the first and see how that goes. It’s another Harry Potter weekend on ABC Family, so you can check out the movies for yourself.

Of course every child is different, but in general, you should keep in mind that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is rated PG-13. While exceptions can be made based on each child, that rating is there for a reason.

Winnie the Pooh is rated G and you can see the humor here in the two movies opening on the same day:
