Wonder Years Danica McKellar Names Her Son Draco Is She a Harry Potter Fan or What?

Wonder Years star and math wiz Danica McKellar gave birth to her first child, a baby boy, earlier this week. One of the first big challenges a couple faces when having a child is what to name them. And celebrities, they take their liberties with their child’s name. Some go soft, some go hard, and some, like Danica, go for a something more astrological and perhaps magical. She named her son Draco Verta. Yes, Draco like the Harry Potter character. So is her son a pure-blood, half-blood or merely a Muggle?

The name Draco did not originate with J.K. Rowling series. It is the Latin word for dragon and is famously known as a constellation in northern part of the sky – which is called Draco. It is also the name of a dwarf galaxy that orbits the Milky Way as well as the name of a genus of gliding lizards.

Other references of Dracos are found in other sci-fi /fantasy works like Xena: Warrior Princess, Dragonheart, as well as Star Wars : Legacy. It also happens to be the programming language for CP/M and the Amiga and the database engine that is used for FileMaker Pro.

So perhaps Danica is a big FileMaker fan, a big Harry Potter head or maybe she just loves a dragon?

What do you think of the name?
