With its scenic mountains, crystal clear lakes and reputation as a nature lover's paradise, Oregon is the epitome of an unplugged vacation. Sure, you could pack the family in the RV and head to one of the state's many campsites. Or, you could hang your hats at the Sunriver Resort in Bend.

Besides having won dozens of accolades for its kid-friendly programs, including the well-equipped but unfortunately named Fort Funnigan, a 2,000 square foot children's center, Sunriver is perhaps the only resort in the country with its own observatory on-site.
