Babble Best: Kettler Air Navigator — $209.99
Kids swarmed us at the playground every time we took the Kettler out on test spins. It could be the big "Komfy Ride" tires or the bright primary colors that serve as kiddie magnets. For any parent who's spent hours stooped over a trike, Kettler's ingenious parent push bar will be a welcome relief. Once your kid gets the hang of peddling on her own, remove the bar and let her ride. The yellow bucket on the back is a great place to stash a snack and sippy cup for post-ride replenishment. Thanks to a sturdy German design and a high carbon steel frame this tricycle will likely be passed on, making it worth the price tag.

Schwinn 12" Mickey Mouse Roadster — $65.69
Mickey Mouse is a timeless attraction for kids. Now style-conscious parents can be keen on the mouse too. This beauty from Schwinn has all the great style features of other retro-trikes, such as the Sky King, for about half the price. Vintage touches include a wooden deck, silver fenders, black tassels and a removable bell. This style is easy for short-legged riders to mount and has a low center of gravity, making it tough to tip. Schwinn's pneumatic tires provide a nice cushy ride on bumpy sidewalks.

Huffy Thomas & Friends Folding Tricycle — $49.99
Toot toot! All aboard. Finally, a way to get your kid to stop obsessing about Thomas's elaborate train table — a Thomas bike. At least he'll be burning off steam outdoors and you won't have to play the role of James or Rosie for the 1,000th time. Can't bare to leave the trains behind for a second? Stow them in the red storage container on back. If you're running out of space in your home, don't worry. This metal trike folds up for compact storage.
